ACA and the American Hospital: How European Hospitals May Guide the U.S. Market
ACA and the American Hospital: How European Hospitals May Guide the U.S. Market
Thursday, June 30th, 2011
The U.S. Hospital System is in tumult. Despite an aging population and increased use of pharmaceutical products, the number of U.S. hospitals is declining. In the face of uncertainty around the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), the only recourse of many hospitals is alignment in integrated healthcare systems or face closure. Even as the U.S. Hospital system moves toward "coverage for all citizens," Europe is adopting a more free-market view of medicine. So which is better? And where might the U.S. and European systems meet in the proverbial middle?

This presentation focuses on key trends influencing the U.S. and European hospital markets and will help attendees better understand what these shifting standards represent for pharmaceutical companies. Attendees will glean a greater understanding and appreciation for the nuances of the U.S. and European hospital settings, as well as some perspective on how to leverage key trends that will shape this new frontier for the betterment of their products and services.
